Don’t bother putting the lens cover back on your camera once you take a photo around the Louvre and Paris’s first and second arrondissements, as the sheer density of landmarks means you’ll have to take it off again soon afterward. The Pont Neuf and the Palais de Justice are just a couple of the sites to be found here, but that doesn’t mean the area is lacking those all important hidden gems, either. Take the Paris Flower Market, for instance – or, if you are visiting on a Sunday, the Paris Bird Market. From Monday to Saturday the area is packed with colorful flower stalls, but on Sundays the market transforms into an every bit as colorful – if noisier – bird market. Just stop and listen out for the squawks, chirping, and tweet-tweets and you’ll soon know where to find it.
